To speak from a personal point of view, i didnt turn up to attend the
event or help out because
a)i am not into that type of music
b)I am not prepared to pay £5 or donate my time towards someones air fare
etc..

This doesnt mean that i oppose the event and as such i want to block it
but in my opinion the good cause isnt good enough and the costs are way
too high. Also the only reason that there was an objection to the ticket
pricing was because after the no boarders party someone said that they
didnt think it was right for someone to have to pay to come into matilda,
I beleive they brought it up at a monday meeting.

Therefore i propose that the matilda collective _must_ know the full costs
of any artist performing before they use the space _and_ any money raised
above the costs are given to a pre-agreed good cause (e.g. the matilda
collective).

Lastly, on a more practicle suggestion it might be a good idea to ask
some of the people that have already proposed having at a party at
matilda (e.g. the nta or fatmoon) if they would like to take part in the
suggested upcoming fundraisers (e.g. M1 widening campaign or indymedia
funraisers). That way everyone can be happy.
