Is it true that the theme of art05 in Sheffield (not just in
matilda) is "the spectator"? It's on all the posters and whatnot.

It isn't about the spectator but "Spectator T" which is a lable given to a 
particular type of spectator who dislikes art and ordinarily avoids is. It 
is part of a classification system that lsits different types of spectator 
depending on the view they take of art. For a more detailed destription one 
of the arty types on this list will have to reply cause that's all I know.
