The reason i asked the meeting to agree that the matilda group would not
renege on already exsisting agreements is because i dont want to see a
friend messed around. It takes quite abit of planning to organise a party
and i dont want that to go to waste.

However on the longer term viability of parties i do not nessasarily
subscribe to the scare-mongering based on the idea that if we have another
party the police will shut us down. Personally i think that if we have
safeguards (e.g. shutting the gate at midnight) then we can ligitimatly
say that it is a private party on property that is not held illeagaly.
Further, even if the police do have a problem with the party they are more
likely to just shut the party as oppose to going to the extreme lengths of
shutting the entire building and all the activities within it.

If this debate is about how parties affect the security of the building
and the logistics of hosting parties then i beleive that these can be
worked around and of course there are disadvantages to hosting parties but
these must be wieghed fairly against the advantages.
On the other hand, is this debate about the ideology/philosophy of matilda
and whether or not that is compatable with hosting parties?
If it is then have always thought that the ideology of matilda is one that
we make up as we go along...
