[Akroncooperative-news] Reminder

Especially with these hot days, and more so when our precipitation finally normalizes (we get less rain), be sure to get out first thing in the morning if you can to give your plants a good drink of water to help them get through the day.

This is actually better than evening watering, which tends to leave the foliage wet through the night and can help to promote mold and fungus growth as well as other infections and infestations.

Watering them in the morning gives them a good drink after the long night and helps to get some water into the soil for them to draw on throughout the day. But we don't want to flood them. Too much available water will tend to stunt healthy root growth. Roots naturally grow as much as they need to to find the water and nutrients they need.

Best of times,
Larry Parker
