I went. It was the
best nouveau-hippie event I’ve been to in years.  Groovy, man.  All farming done
on above ground soil boxes on asphalt, lotsa chickens, too—right in heart of
urban center. Neat, interesting, friendly, alternative people all shapes and
sizes having fun and hanging out. Gotta get this in Akron .

Harvest Party! Open House!   ~A Fun Fall Family Event ~ 
  
When: Sat. Oct. 10th   3pm-10pm  (Rain Date: Oct 24th) 
Where:  Gather 'round Farm 3919 Lorain Ave., Cleveland,  OH ( Between Fulton and W.41st., South side of Sreet. Walk in entrance: front gate on Lorain . Please park on Lorain  and W.38th St.  -not in neighboring business lots) 
  
Come share in the bounty of the garden this year. We invite you to meander through the little urban edible jungle, peer in to squash huts, see what grew, harvest what is ripe, and take some home. Enjoy picking veggies and greens, digging potatoes, and visiting with the spiders, bees, and bugs of the ecosystem that is starting to form. Some of the harvest will be cooked over the fire for a harvest/potluck dinner! 

Rough Schedule: (on nature’s time ) 
3:00 pm:  Chicken's birthday party. Sing to chickens and see them eat their birthday cake! 
4:00 pm:  Start harvesting and cooking over the fire, potato printing, and other activities 
5:00 pm:  Sauerkraut making demo. 
6:00 pm:  Harvest Dinner. Bring a dish to share, or help cook a harvest meal over the fire. 
  
*Additional activities: cider pressing, fish bike mobile rides, clay shaping ...and? 
  
Items to bring if you have 'em:
~Silverware, plates, bowls for yourself for pot luck meal
~Harvest bags, baskets for your harvest
~T- shirt or other cloth items for potato printing 
~Fruit, and jugs for cider pressing
~Wide mouthed jar/ ceramic container for sauerkraut
  
  *You are invited to bring instruments and songs to play around the garden and fire! 
  
Volunteers Needed: for set up, clean up, cooking over fire, photo taking, and help during event with odds and ends. Please call Meagen for more details: (216) 961- 9417 
  
$ Donations for farm upkeep, events, and our work will be greatly appreciated. Every one is welcome, whether you can donate or not!
