Hi All lovely Akronites, the news today said Americans have given something on par with 130 million toward relief in Haiti (i think).
Today, we have a chance to give a bit more and gain some goodies for the week!
 
What: A vegan bake sale with all sorts of blessed goods, donated by caring bakers throughout NE OHIO. 
ALL PROCEEDS BENEFIT Doctors without Borders
When: This SATURDAY - 11am-5pm
Where: Vegiterranean, in the Northside district of downtown, 21 Furnace St 
Akron, OH 44308
 
Nab some hemp seed crouton/crackers from Plant Kingdom Bakery, breakfast waffles from Ms Julies Kitchen, or any number of junky foods, including goodies from West Side Bakery.
 
Why vegan bakery goods: Milk production is contaminating ground water supplies with waste runoff, sickening rural communities. Dairy cows spend two years confined on feedlots, hooked up to machines that suck up all kinds of unwanted body fluids along with the milk. 98% of commercial eggs are from factory farms where battery cages are used to confine egg-laying hens in horrendously crowded & disgusting conditions where they spend their lives breathing in their own feces, deprived of natural stimulation of the sun and earth, and are treated with anti-biotics.
