Message from the President: ACGA 2010 Annual Conference
From The Desk of The President

ACGA 2010 Annual Conference
Atlanta, Georgia
August 5-8

The 2010 ACGA conference is only a few months away. As one who has been involved in hosting three national and two regional conferences, I know that this is the time to build up momentum going down the stretch toward the 2010 conference. Here is what we need:
	* Everyone: In your towns, city or state, you need to start “talking the conference up”. Mention it at community gardeners meetings and other community organizations and put it in your organization‘s newsletters. "Plan now to attend the 2010 31st Annual Conference of the ACGA. A Holistic Approach To Building Sustainable and Healthy Communities Through Gardening: The Choice Is Yours. Read more at the conference http://communitygarden.org"
	* Planning committee members: We have been working on this conference since we left Franklin Park Conservatory back in August of 2009, and now, with a few months before the conference, it is time to get back in the game and fully engage in getting ready. It is our hope and desire that this will be one of the best conferences in the history of ACGA.
	* We need community gardeners, educators, community leaders, government workers and every day people who are concerned about green spaces, growing fresh vegetables and the environment, to show up in Atlanta August 5-8 for some great educational classes, southern hospitality, garden tips and most of all be in the midst of some of the greatest movers and shakers of the gardening movement. That includes you. Will you come?

ACGA announces partnership with SharedEarth.com
SharedEarth.com is a free website that connects land owners with gardeners and farmers. SharedEarth.com users create their own profile and find matches based on criteria such as location, years of gardening experience and the type of produce to be grown. Gardeners and farmers find the service useful because they are able to gain free access to land. Land owners find the service useful because they often lack the time, experience or commitment needed to cultivate a productive garden on their property.
