hey all,

maybe you, else perhaps forward.....

the free software consortium (FSC) is looking for a volunteer to help
the technical coordinator with mainly updating the website.

either participating directly (writing etc.) or just uploading stuff
send by different people within FSC.

have a look at the site, and contact jaco at fsc.cc / mp at fsc.cc if you have
questions/are interested. Also visit irc.freenode.net #fsc .....

This could be good way to become part of something that potentially
could generate an income in the future. Also it would be good if these
new instituions that inevitably spring up around free software include
COOL/RADICAL people !!! ;)

part of a formal-ish blurb:

FSC is a multi-sectorial "forum" in which, so far, 250 companies and
consultants, have come together to establish a network with a view to
develop commercially viable free software related services.

The incentive to join the FSC, apart from the obvious provision of
structures for a sporadic community of hackers/software developers, is
the GNU/Linux distribution that we are developing, called GONUX
(http://gonux.fsc.cc). It is targeted at the Public Sector and includes
cooperation/affiliation with a range of interesting projects with great
potential, such as the Brasilian package GNUTECA which is used for
University administration in 30 instituions across the Americas.

Additionally, the FSC also comprises a group of academics who are
working, amongst other things, on a Free Software Act
(http://freesoftwareact.fsc.cc/) to consolidate the status of the GPL -
a project that is led by Maureen O'Sullivan of University of West
England's School of Law.
