1) found a link to a bbc news story:
'Net ninjas' take on web censorship
A small group of 'net commandos' at the University of Toronto are looking to
help people get around government controls on the internet, as technology
correspondent Clark Boyd reports.

which brought me to http://citizenlab.org - intersting stuff...
2) and a few of us here are develeping a straightforward guide to security for
non-geek activists, to encourage them to at least think about their it
security. it'll be postcard based, to be handed out free at gatherings and
through the usual networks, with three different levels of paranoia. When we
get it licked into shape we'll be asking you people for feedback, but in the
meantime, any ideas where we can a few hundred squid to cover printing?
all the best
