hi Aktivix folk,
technology & politics so thought I would send this on to people.

For your information: a new email list has begun regarding for organising
on technology and democracy issues has begun. It is expected to focus on
nanotech and converging technologies issues.

To join this list go to

and click on subscribe.

############################################ The techne list has been
created to discuss activism and facilitate organising around TECHNOLOGY and
DEMOCRACY issues

and is a result of conversations had across the internet or during
conferences such as People's Global Action in Belgrade, Serbia or the
European Social Forum in London, United Kingdom during the year 2004. It is
meant to support direct action, media strategies, education work, community
& labor organising, corporate accountability campaigns, or even pressure
work (for regulatory frameworks).

Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), new forms of
surveillance, genetic engineering, biotec, military weaponry, intellectual
property debates, etc are all legitimate topics of discussion for this list
although many of them are recognized and discussed elsewhere on the
internet. Special emphasis might be given to nanotech and converging
technologies or any other fields within which there is little or only
recent presence by social and environmental justice movements.
