Hi Aktivix,

We still hadn't reported on the meeting we had in London, because not
much was agreed really... although quite a bit was discussed :-)

1. we agreed that although it is very necessary and good to receive
money, we do not want to do "anything" to get it. e.g. we don't want to
sell services, email lists... We give them for free, not as a service,
and we gladly accept donations, but we can not link those services with
the money. People can not expect "a service"; this is a community server
and it is not like we are providing a service to the users - we all need
to contribute some how.

2. when providing a group or network with email lists, we will look at
whether they are paid while doing what they want to do with the email
list - because, since we are doing this out of our scarce spare time, we
want to deal with people who are in the same position, not with people
who are paid while they are talking to us.

3. pga - it is said that the techies/responsible people for the servers,
at pga, agreed to network among themselves and that the communication
channels would not be open so there was/is not much to contribute there.

4. future growth for aktivix - yes we would like to move as many people
as possible from googlemail, yahoo etc. But we didn't agree in the "how".

5. we want people, all users to contribute to the running of the server
if only like riseup does, asking for donations from time to time. We
need to provide some documentation like they have, if we want to expand...

... and that was all, I think. We agreed that although not much was
"decided" a face to face contact is always positive and the more
concrete courses of action can be dealt with on irc.

And this is the report back. Not sure if this is a good moment, or a bad
moment, given the situation with indymedia and the massive mirrors
replacement needed for many sites among them uk... anyway.

do we have an irc meeting to go on with this?

ana
