hi all

though i've used linux for a fair few years, i have always been an
'install via apt-get' kinda person. i have never done the ./configure,
make, make install route.

for my personal calendar i use calcurse [0]. i think i may have
identified a bug and the author has advised me to install the latest
snapshot version [1] to see if it's fixed.

please note the following code:

r7 at box:~$ ./configure --program-suffix=_SNAPSHOT
[snip]
checking for initscr in -lncursesw... no
checking for initscr in -lncurses... no
configure: error: Either ncurses or ncursesw library is required to
build calcurse!
r7 at box:~$

but i'm sure i have it installed:

r7 at box:~$ dpkg -l libncursesw5 | grep libncursesw5
ii libncursesw5 5.7+20081213-1
shared libraries for terminal handling (wide character support)
r7 at box:~$

so the question is, how do i tell ./configure how to find it?

thanks in advance.

r7
