The Cuts are a Feminist Issue
So how do we organise against them?
Monday 6 December 7pm to 9pm
Lucas Arms, 245a Gray's Inn Rd, WC1X 8QY
nearest tube Kings Cross
We know the cuts will affect women more than men, but why? And how should
we fight back? This workshop and planning meeting will look at current and
historical struggles the hospital occupations of the 70s, nursery
provision from Sylvia Pankhurst in the East End to local campaigns today,
and the union and community campaigns for ESOL (English for Speakers of
Other Langauges) provision. What can we learn from these struggles and
what does this mean for how we organise now? As well as discussing these
examples we will look at planning a workshop and writing a leaflet about
women and the cuts that can be taken out and used as a tool in the
anti-cuts movement. Open to all genders.
