CALLING ALL HACKNEY FEMINIST ACTIVISTS

 

There are quite a few of us, so we thought we'd like to meet up, and maybe get involved in a spot of local feminist activism! So we are organising an initial get-together:

 

Thursday 17th June 2010 at 7:30 p.m.

195 Mare St, London E8 3QE

 

Quite a lot is already happening, and there is potential for lots more. Here are a few things we already know about:

 

v     Friends of Hackney Nurseries

v     Organising local consciousness-raising groups

v     UNISON campaign for equal pay for low paid women workers

v     Radical childcare collective

v     Campaigning against lap dancing clubs

v     Radical action for carers

v     Fundraising gigs for feminist causes

 

Come along and join in. There is no organised childcare for the meeting, but there is space at the venue for children to play. The meeting room is on the ground floor, and there is a ramp at the front for the steps, but there is no wheelchair accessible toilet.
