The London Irish Women’s Network & Women’s Studies Without Walls invite
you to Mary Lodato’s talk:'The Joy of Discovering my Authentic Self:One
Woman’s Journey out of Institutional Abuse in Ireland'
Mary is writing a PhD and an autobiography, Golden Slippers in the Sand,
on her personal journey of survival, redress and recovery, charting her
childhood experience of institutional abuse in an Industrial School with a
Magdalene Laundry attached. Some of Mary’s artwork will be on display.
Mary will be joined by Survivor Poet, Eamer O’Keeffe, whose latest
collection is entitled 'Irish Lifelines: an anthology of poetry by Irish
women survivors in London' (2008).
Also speaking will be Phyllis Morgan, who set up the Irish Survivors
Network iand who has been appointed to the Redress Board for the Magdalene
survivors
