performance and public awareness of women composers in the Western classical
music canon. How do our ideas of gender influence what we hear, and what we want
to hear? How are women composers taught, if they are taught at all? How can we
best move forward?<BR><BR>Ursula’s Arrow – Sarah Dacey, CN Lester, Toby Carr and
Aileen Henry – was formed with the aim of bringing a modern sensibility to early
music. Performing works by female composers and investigating the gendered
nature of the classical music canon, UA also composes and commissions new works
