<P>O prefeito de Salvador, João Henrique Carneiro (PMDB), interditou nesta terça-feira (13) duas agências do Banco do Brasil –uma localizada no shopping Iguatemi, o maior da capital baiana, e a outra no bairro da Calçada, na cidade baixa. Segundo o prefeito, que comandou pessoalmente as interdições, as agências desrespeitaram pela quinta vez uma lei municipal que estabelece um prazo máximo de 15 minutos para os clientes serem atendidos em dias normais.</P>
<P>“Outras três agências, que também foram notificadas quatro vezes, podem ser interditadas a qualquer momento”, afirmou o prefeito. De acordo com João Henrique, a lei que estabelece o tempo de atendimento para os clientes, apesar de sancionada há mais de dois anos, só começou a ser aplicada nos últimos dias porque foi derrubada uma liminar da Justiça Federal que impedia a fiscalização da norma. A liminar, obtida pela Febraban, foi cassada no dia 28 de fevereiro, e os bancos ainda tiveram mais três meses para fazer as adaptações necessárias.</P>
<P>Cada notificação custa aos bancos uma multa de R$ 5.000. Após a interdição, segundo a lei, as agências ficam cinco dias fechadas para adaptação às regras. Caso a agência persista na irregularidade, a prefeitura cassará definitivamente o alvará de funcionamento.</P>
<P>Para controlar o horário de chegada, os bancos são obrigados a entregar senhas para os clientes. Como há poucos funcionários para fiscalizar todas as agências de Salvador, as notificações somente têm acontecido quando os próprios clientes fazem as reclamações à prefeitura ou ao Ministério Público –para isso, devem mostrar a senha carimbada com o horário do atendimento.</P>
<P>A superintendência do BB informou que as duas agências interditadas estão adotando “medidas administrativas” para que voltem a funcionar nos próximos dias.</P></DIV></DIV></DIV></TD>
