What do people think about this initiative..? As Maria says, could be useful
for some campaigners. Also, would any people be interested to attend and put
forward a 'Campaign for Real Democracy' angle on crime..? Which would
be...? For me it's about new social relations at the local level, and a move
towards collective stewardship of the people and creatures who live and work
there, and that bit of earth we share. Lifting people out of poverty, at
the same time, ie a new, democratic economy in which everyone has some
material muscle, presently only the preserve of the few, would presumably
also help here? As always, keen to hear your thoughts! Mark

Hi Mark,
Should this be circulated?
There is information in the training of what your rights are which might be
vital for most people engaged with campaigning & civil rights
Thanks
Maria

Crime is tackled most effectively when local people work together
with the police and other criminal justice agencies - this was what
Louise Casey
, the Government Crime and Justice Advisor found when she looked at
how crime could be better tackled in this country last year
The Community Crime Fighters training provides an opportunity to
learn:
· What the Policing Pledge means locally
· The tools and powers local authorities could and should be using to
tackle anti - social behaviour and crime
· The help provided to victims and witnesses of crime and anti-social
behaviour
· Ways to get the best out of local crime fighting agencies
