<br>Hi everyone,<br><br>A few days ago, I wrote this email to Mark and he asked me to email my correspondence to everyone on the list, I didn't know how to do that then but now that I have found out I though I'd make sure everyone on the list gets to read my opinion on Camp Ashraf. I would appreciate it if people read it and did their research on the people of camp Ashraf before contemplating supporting them.<br>

Sometimes it seems to be on purpose. e.g. the 8 year war between Iran and Iraq was compleatly ignored, were it was obvious that Sadam had attached Iran for no good reason at all. I do hold Iran responsible for it continuing on for more then 3 years, by which time they had the opportunity to end the war, but this does not change the fact that Sadam breached all international laws and the United nations did NOTHING.<br>
<br>Finally, ill start with a story close to home; I have a cousin, who was left father less thanks to the Mojahedin who are from Camp Ashraf. They killed him, simply because they are violent people who have no mercy on anyone. my cousins father was merely a civilian walking to work. He (rightly or wrongly it doesnt matter) supported the revolution, and he was not the only one who was killed, many more over the years have been slaughtered through road side bombs or in mosque bombings in Iran by the Mojahedin. The latest bombings were under 6 months ago (one was in April). <br>
<br>I am not one to be in favour of revenge, so I do not want to see the Mojahedin suffering, but at the same time I do not believe that they have earned the right of other peoples support or respect. Why should we respect them when they do not respect anyone who is not one of them. They would kill me or anyone else who does not agree with them, if they had the chance to do so. Also they are very brutal towards their own members, you can watch documentaries and read interviews of Mojahedin members who have left the organization.<br>
<br>I think it is time that people realise that regardless of the Iranian regime (whether people like it or hate it) Iranians are human being who have for many years suffered and have got slughtered and killed by the Mojahedin and the Funding and support of the likes of <b>Sadam Hossein</b> and Bush Family. I for one would not support anything or anyone that Saddam supported. Supporting the Mojahedin, is for Iranians,the same as supporting Al-Qaeda, to the Americans. <br>
<br>I hope you read further about such matters from different sources, and make up your mind wisely, rather then through hearsay. I am merely giving my opinion from what I have read and experienced. I wish I could claim (as a matter of fact) that I was right and you should listen to me, but I don't believe in one persons word so I hope you would not either. But regardless I have done my research and am not changing my belief about the people from Camp Ashraf, nothing and no cause justifies killing and murder, thus I would always believe that they did evil to humanity. and I do not support Evil.<br>

<div>They are protected people under the Geneva Convention and those who have been arrested and detained have rights, just the same as you or I. Please tell more about your experiences.. And why not write to the whole list if you want to discourage people ?</div>

They too are <b>terrorists </b>and have been the cause of many deaths. I suggest that people do their research before even thinking about supporting them.<br>
Camp Ashraf should have been shut down many years ago, and was funded by Sadam and US to kill innocent people in Iran. <br><br>Please do your research on these people before you do anything to support them. <br><br><br><br>

<div>Do people know about Camp Ashraf on the Iraqi / Iranian border and the 36 (the Ashraf 36) who've been arrested and detained since July 28th in Iraq, without lawful charge? On Monday, the highest appeal court in Iraq decided they should be released, as had the two previous courts who'd heard their case. But, for the thrid time the new Iraqi state overruled the court. Which means the rule of law has been overturned by the Iraqi regime.</div>

<div>Suspicion among some is that there is some kind of high level agreement between Maliki's (Shia predominant) administration, and the Iranian regime, who obviously want to shut down the government in exile / resistance. Sadly, the US and other admins have continued on their all mixed up policy course veering between appeasement (for economic reasons) and war mongering. Why not support the resistance by reporting on the rights abuses they've suffered? Maybe because these people struggle for an independenct and democratic Iran, beholden neither to US corporate power nor the authoritarian clericism. Camp Ashraf (which is actually more of a city) has been built over the last 20 years, and is the HQ of the PMOI, leading Iranian dissidents since even the time of the Shah, and led by Maryam Javi who is exiled (and was once nearly deported to Iran by the appeasing French regime at the time) living in Paris. There is pretty much a media blackout on all this even though Amnesty, the EU, Archbishop of Canterbury and others of high profile have stepped in to support the rights of the detained and denounce what the Iraqi regime have been up to. The 36 were initially detained when there was an attempt to close down and demolish the city by the Iraqi govt July 28th, which was resisted by the city's residents.</div>

<div>The people of Ashraf and especially the 36 need support. In the UK, to find out more pls visit the US Embassy in Grosvenor Square where there are 15 or so hunger strikers (more than half of whom are women, as this is a movement, led by a woman/ women and decisions at the protest camp are taken democratically by all concerned) who've been camped out there without food for 63 days. Maria of Parliament Square (who has been facing a degree of ostracism from the members of Brian's Peace Camp, and who could really do with your support for this reason alone) is spending a lot of time with the Grosvenor Square campers, and I visited her, and them on Monday. It is a truly special atmosphere they have created and I urge people to visit themselves as soon as they get the chance. I am told there are also hunger strikers for Ashraf outside other US Embassies around the world.</div>
