<DIV>I think it is fantastic that OccupyLSX has been able to maintain itself for almost a week now.</DIV>
<DIV>However there are troubling signs on the horizon, St Paul's cathedral is private property that is being occupied. The dean initially welcomed the protest but has already shared concerns about the site growing and how it has resulted in a loss of revenue for them. Some activists I have been told has advocated subsidising their loss of revenue, I think that idea is not only absurd but also incredibly naive. We cannot rely on the patronage of the Catholic church to sustain our movement neither should we subsidise them out of a misplaced notion of gratitude.</DIV>
<DIV>We need to find alternative sites including Paternoster Square, we should not look to be tolerated, we should demand legitimacy.</DIV>
<DIV>Until we have found sustainable and permanent ground to camp on, I fear planning celebrations is a bit premature.</DIV>
