i flaked out from coming to moot, but instead decided to make a start on
the APE application

these are the main questions we need to answer - please send comments
direct to me

a) What you will be doing

opening a space near to the proposed kingsnorth power station that can
act as a hub for activists from outside the area and an outreach /
information centre for local people interested in the campaign

b) How it is connected to climate change

the space will be base for action to stop the building of a coal fired
power station.

c) What you hope to achieve

to build a strong local movement that will help prevent the building of
kingsnorth power station and a base that will help support activists
from elsewhere.

d) A timeline

this bid is for an initial 6 months, it is hoped that the space will be
able to raise funds itself when it is established

e) Details of partners
none

f) Short summary budget outlining expected staff, materials, and
overheads (this need not be a fully detailed budget).

Month 1 : deposit £1,000-£1,500, rent £1,000-£1,500, misc setup £500
Month 2 : rent £1,000-£1,500, bills £200
Month 3 : rent £1,000-£1,500, bills £200
Month 4 : rent £1,000-£1,500, bills £200
Month 5 : rent £1,000-£1,500, bills £200
Month 6 : bills £400

This should come to somewhere between £8,300 and £12,200 as the worse
case scenario.

2. What type is your organisation e.g. non-government organisation,
registered charity (give number), academic institution etc:
Non hierachical grassroots organisation

About your project

1. Please write a summary of your project in a maximum of 150 words to
describe its purpose, activities, proposed outcomes and location

Climate camp intends to rent a space near to the proposed coal fired
power station at kingsnorth in kent to act as a hub for activists from
all over the country and as an outreach / information point to get local
people involved.

2.What is the start date of you project?
When a suitable property can be found

3. What is the total budget of the project?
between £8,300 and £12,200

4.When do you need funds by?
£1200-£1700 each month for 5 months, then £400 for the 6th month

5. Will the project still go ahead if under-funded, and it what form?
Yes, but it will severely limit the other things climate camp can do
this year

6. How long will your project run? Initial 6 months, then hopefully
ongoing funded by methods established in the initial period

7. Do you have other funding for this project? If so, who are your
other funders?
no
8. Who else is being approached for funding?
none
