I had a chat with Jon today about plans for the website over the next
couple of days and during the rest of the camp.
Now that we have got this amazing website we all really want to make
the most of it during the camp with video, radio, articles, blog posts
and pics . We want to aim to have something new on the website every
day - and it would be good to have a brief website meeting every
morning to plan the day ahead.
This is what we were thinking....
Wednesday During the Day
The site will be updated the site from midday as things get under way
with - probably sporadic - swoop reports,
We may even have the odd "breaking swoopflash" for any significant
developments.
We'll get a final swoop report just as soon as all our eagles have
landed.
It would be great to get on the website a good pic of the (actual)
site as soon as its secure. If any of you are around at that time
please take a pic and email it to website at climatecamp.org.uk. But
please check - i'd suggest with the meetings group or one of the
huddles - that it's safe and OK to do so.
We also want to set up a map reference from the front page as soon as
we can.
Later on wednesday
We'll put up the swoop vid on the homepage as soon as its ready - and
technically possible.
By late afternoon we'd also really like to get some blog posts from a
few random swoopers - how their day went etc. 3 or 4 swoop stories
would be fine - we probably can't cope with many more - but that would
really add to our day 1 coverage.
Thursday
We'd really like to have an initial website meeting on Thursday
morning - (how about 10am?).
It would be great to have at least one person from each of these
groups represented:
Media makers
Media liaison
Photographers
Radio
Tec
Meetings
We thought the focus of the website on thursday should be all about
building the camp from the ground up - pics, reports, video of
marquees going up, wind turbines, toilets.
We could also have something on the opening plenary.
Personally, i think it would also be great to have the jobshop online
as a call out - we need carpenters, cooks, candlemakers etc - I think
that would give a great sense of what the camp is all about and it
could persuade people who are thinking about coming to get off their
arses.
Anyway these are our (or in some places my) suggestions - all comments
welcome, but there's probably not much time for email discussions
tomorrow, so we can pick this all up on Thursday.
Hasta la swooptoria siempre!
Ali
