In October 2008 the ruling class condemned us to a generation of debt
slavery by stealing billions of pounds of so-called “public” money to
bail-out the collapsing banks. The public finances were robbed in what many
are now beginning to realise was the greatest bank job in history. Covering
up this crises is being paid for by a new age of austerity that means people
are facing increasing economic oppression such as unemployment and massive
cuts to public services. As corporate elites struggle to maintain their
system of endless growth, they are becoming evermore ruthless in exploiting
the earth and its people in pursuit of short term profit, condemning us to
immanent ecological catastrophe. And all this has been built with wealth
they have been stealing from us in the first place!

Capitalism is a catastrophe for life on earth. Climate change, the
bio-crisis and the energy, food and water crises are some of the many
symptoms of the inherent contradictions of this global system of
exploitation. Predatory economics has no future, and will bring down life on
earth in order to maintain its domination and social control. People are
fighting back and finding ways out of this crisis and there is still a
remote chance that human life on earth could have a future but this is fast
running out. It is only by confronting this catastrophe that we can envisage
any meaningful possibility for social transformation. Action must be swift
to initiate this ecological revolution that transforms how we relate to each
other and the earth itself. The only way to ensure survival is by building
community resilience, in part through acts of solidarity to resist the banks
and the fossil fuel industries. We invite you to become part of this radical
social transformation, to reclaim all of what is rightly ours, most
importantly that very ability to dream of a future.

Act now in defiance of capitalism, in defence of life.
