Each event now has its own page with the full contents, so I was
thinking of something more like the press releases list?

Okay. I was using the same date format as the press releases on the
front page, but then I thought the year was kinda pointless noise (I
don't think we should list the year), so I removed it, hence the current
format. But I think it's fine to use "25 June" rather than "June 25" as
we are using that format elsewhere.
