[Cc-webedit] Communications Phone Conference

 Hello All,

The aim of this email is to get it out to as many people as possible, so please forward on to those who might be interested and apologies if it ends up in your inbox five times!

So, it seems that the various functions of Climate Camp external communications have hit a bit of a stumbling block since the Manchester Gathering. I think this is for a variety of reasons: not quite understanding fully the event we're supposed to be messaging, the heavy emphasis on site at the last gathering leaving these groups quite barren, perhaps not knowing quite what to do in the given time-frame, and finally no real means new people on these lists to find out what needs to doing and genuinely participate.

With this in mind, I'd like to propose we pull together a Communication Groups meeting, bringing together all the groups working on external communications and anyone who wants to get involved in any of these areas.

I suggest this meeting would have the objectives of:
1. Identifying which areas have gaps in capacity/skills and where people might thus put their energies
2. Ensuring we pull together some cohesive messaging across the board (not even on the complex stuff, but on some of the basic practical info such as names and dates would be a good start)
3. Assessing what resources we have already (eg flyers, newspapers, exhibtion) and how we can best utilise these.
4. Putting together a bit of a timeline between now and the Camp

There is also the process question of how the communications groups groups breakdown. At the moment we theoretically have the following:
-Outreach
-Website
-Media
-A possibly emerging social media group
-A temporary Glastonbury Group

My understanding is that some of these are pretty under resourced at present despite attempts to get more people on board. Therefore, it might be there's a better way to breakdown the groups to see us through the next few weeks.

Anyway, it would be great if this could happen before the weekend, when many outreachers depart for Glastonbury, as it might inform the outreach at the festival.
