Please find below and attached the minutes of the website meeting from
the Hebden gathering. We didn't get as much time as we wanted and not
everyone was there who we'd hoped, but we did make some progress.<br>

<b>Website WG Meeting – 27/05/2009</b><br>
<br>
<b>New website</b><br>
• The gathering had reached consensus on the Saturday that an overhaul
of the website was urgently needed. Discussion about Jon's website
document as a starting point and how to take it forward.<br>
• Who is available to do what?<br>
◦ Design: Sara, Torchbox (maybe)<br>
◦ Tech: Jon, Brian, Neil<br>
◦ Content Editing: Ellen, Jonathan, Alistair, Simon (maybe), Sophie
(maybe)<br>
<br>
<b>Content</b><br>
• Front page: specifically needs a clear process to decide what goes on
there, what does not, and how changes are made. This will be part of
the next design but we can review it now as an interim measure.<br>
• AP: Jonathan to suggest interim side button changes<br>
• Blog: Discussion about a potential blog:<br>
◦ Needs a written mandate<br>
◦ Should not have opinion pieces as these will appear to be “from the
climate camp”<br>
◦ Should have regular updates about “what's happening” - brief informal
reports from meetings etc, to keep the narrative going and keep people
coming back to the website<br>
◦ Needs a process<br>
◦ To discuss next meeting<br>

<b>Design</b><br>
• Our new design should be quite flexible, as our “projects” change
regularly, so it should not be designed around a particular project
(I.e. g20, summer camp, etc.)<br>
• AP: Jon to speak to potential designers to assess availability<br>
<br>
<b>Tech</b><br>
• Not clear if Drupal is necessarily the system we need, though it is
working well in some ways. We should investigate other options but also
see whether we can upgrade to a newer version and/or use existing
functionalities more.<br>
• AP: Jon to look into our options at a technology level, therefore
needs FTP access and technical access to Drupal in order to see what we
currently have and how it works (consensus). Jon will ask Neil for
passwords.<br>

<b>Next meeting</b><br>
• At the next gathering in Cambridge, 20-21st June. We would like to
have arranged a longer meeting outside a gathering sooner, but couldn't
agree a date due to a number of people's constraints.
