Dear All,<br><br>I must also agree that blog postings should be sent to the list before being put online. This is really important as it gives us the chance to check the content and ensure we are putting up accurate and well written material. And aside from that, it is a method that we all agreed, and should follow. <br>
<br>As regards the style - if we don't use the tools and the system properly, it makes the site look messy, untidy and unprofessional. So, knowing many of you as i do, i don't think that any of you are messy, untidy or unprofessional - so lets ensure the site we work on reflects that. <br>

My understanding is that it was sent in by the international group and<br>
then put up by Neil.<br>

Neil - Thanks for putting it up, but I think there are definite issues<br>
with how it happened:<br>

1. I thought we agreed the process for putting up blog posts would be to<br>
send it around the list and then put it up a few hours later if there<br>
are no objections. I personally have no issue with this post, but I have<br>
a big issue with the fact that there was no email to the list about it -<br>
even after it went up. If people feel this is unnecessarily bureaucratic<br>
then we need to discuss that and agree on a more suitable process, but<br>
for now the process that we have agreed should be stuck with.<br>

2. When the post first when up it completely ignored the style guide<br>
(I've fixed it now). I've said it before but I'll say it again - if<br>
pasting in from elsewhere you need to use the "rubber" to clear<br>
formatting. And make sure that there are proper spaces between the<br>
paragraphs. I'm working on improvements to the editor which will make<br>
this more automatic, but for now it needs to be done. I raised an issue<br>
last week about the "Where Next" minutes not adhering to the style guide<br>
too, but this has been ignored. Why?<br>
