<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000">The Camp for Climate Action takes
grassroots direct action against the root causes of climate change.
After mobilising and helping stop the proposed third runway at
Heathrow and a new coal fired power station at Kinsgnorth, we're
growing into a mass movement relcaiming our future from government and
profit-hungry corporations.</font></p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><br></font>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000">This year we're targeting RBS. Last
year we paid £29 billion to bail out RBS. This bank is the world's
largest invester in oil, gas and coal extraction. From tar sands
extraction to coal infrastructure we're paying for trashing our
future. These projects are not just causing catastrophic climate
change, but destroying the lives and livelihoods of communities
across the globe. Meanwhile, we're told there is no money left and we
should be braced for decades of public sectors cuts.</font></p>

<p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000">This year, people from across the UK
will be converging near the RBS global headquarters in Edinburgh. Our
sustainable basecamp will provide n exciting array of opportunities
to get educated, get trained, and meet like-minded individuals.
Exciting actions plans are currently in the planning stages and will

Now... the work!<br></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000">So, at the gathering new groups for the Camp got started (such as Site Team, Outreach, etc). However, those 365 day a year groups didn't meet, but they equally need to burst out of dormancy and get going on the work for the summer. <br></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000">Here's a few ideas for taking things forward from here...<br></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000"><b>1. Call out for new people: </b>Suggest we put a call-out in tomorrow's newsletter for people to get involved in the website, encouraging both techies and content writers, and emphasising it is something where skills can easily be shared to participate.</font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000"><b>2. Meeting: </b>Would suggest we hold a meeting very soon to creatively and dynamically plan out the website content. In my mind, there should have been quite a comprehensive overall of content before the next gathering to reflect we are now mobilising for a major event, so suggest this needs to be in the next couple of weeks. Interim steps: </b>Suggest we need to make some urgent changes to the website to bring it up to speed, before developing something more extensive and thought through.</font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000">My personal proposals (but be great to have other ideas/amendments) would be: <br></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000"><br></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000">A) Front page:</font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000">-Main picture changed to some artwork titled: "Break the Banks" -think we can find this from the exhibition we're currently producing for Glastonbury.<br></font></font></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000">-Text in main highlight box changed to: </font></font><b><font style="" color="#ff0000"><font style="" color="#000000">"The Camp for Climate Action will be targeting RBS between 21st-24th August in Edinburgh."</font></font></b> </p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">-Links in main highlight box: <b>"Get Involved" </b>and <b>"Why RBS?"</b></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">-Other Highlights: we replace Huntington Lake with <b>"Heathrow Victory"</b> -a blog post about the victory with links to the past actions pages. I've suggested we encourage as many as possible to develop their own sub-pages for job shops, etc. However, for now I suggest we bung down very simple remits and email addresses (this might also involve the logistics of newly formed groups their email addresses + checking groups we think exist are checking theirs.</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">E) Blog:</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">So, this is rather dead. But currently there is a newspaper being put together around the theme of RBS, banking, Climate, with 15 articles in it to promote the camp. I'd suggest we contact the people putting this together, with the possibility of putting these articles into the Blog (one every few days).
