On what makes it onto the events page: the Process group's current
guidelines for putting stuff in the newsletter are below.

There are clearly grey areas and that usually involves a shoutout to
the Process list.

However I guess there are probably differences between what goes in an
email to a UK list where the number of items is a factor and what can
go up on our site. So we may want to consider tweaking them. Or telling
Process what types of event we think might be suitable for the website
whether or not they're suitable for the newsletter and asking them to
fwd to website@?

J

Newsletter guidelines, April 2010
----------------------------------

Things to always put in:
* information about CC events, including summer camps, UK gatherings,
days of action, trainings, regional gatherings and anything else
organised through the UK process
* information from CC working groups
* information from CC neighbourhoods

Things to almost always put in unless there are already 10 items:
* information about events supported by CC or a CC neighbourhood
* information about events or activities organised by other grassroots
climate justice activists: eg. Earth First, Rising Tide, Mainshill,
Ratcliffe 114, Coal Action Network, Plane Stupid, Tar Sands network

Things to probably put in but as it's the greyest area you might want
to do a sanity check with a couple of people, or the process list,
before putting in:
* callouts, info, events etc that broadly fit with CC's politics, eg.
Anarchist movement conference, Community action gathering, Network for
Police Monitoring Training, Volunteering at CAT

Things to probably not put in, at least not without checking with the
process list:
* local events not organised by CC or a CC neighbourhood (ie. events
that people wouldn't be expected to travel from other parts of the
country for. These should be passed on to the appropriate neighbourhood
or local group)
* NGO events, campaigns, reports etc, unless very relevant to a CC
project

Things to definitely not put in:
* things from political parties or political candidates
* things from governments
* things from corporations
