    Mobilisations G8/G20 2011

  INTERNATIONAL PREPARATORY MEETING

Paris
26-27th of March

France will host the G8 and the G20 in 2011, which will respectively be 
held the 27-28th of May in Deauville and the 3rd and 4th of November in 
Cannes.

Since 2008, the G20 has imposed itself as the main framework for 
dialogue among the richest countries, in which their leaders deliberate 
and define the "solutions" for the financial, economic and climate 
crisis plaguing the entire planet. Yet summits go by, and the multiple 
global crises remain. The last G8 and G20 meetings failed to bring any 
real solutions. On the contrary, everything suggests that G20 leaders' 
sought first to re-legitimize the actors and mechanisms at the origin of 
these crises (IMF, WB, WTO, the free trade and investment regime, etc.), 
while leaving it up to citizens to pay the price. Though truly 
democratic solutions to the crisis do exist and it's urgent to promote 
peoples' responses to the crisis and the system change agenda face to 
the G20 agenda.

The french groups, social movements, NGOs, unions... have organized 
themselves into a national coalition, which coordinates the mobilization 
process at the national level.

To help broadening the mobilization front, a call has been worked out 
during the Dakar WSF (here enclosed in FR, EN and ES), which is open to 
the signature of foreign organizations, networks, movements willing to 
support and join the mobilizations planned in France. You can send your

In Dakar, through the G8 G20 convergence assembly for action we launched 
the international working process towards these mobilizations in May and 
November.
After London, Toronto and Seoul, the french coalition wishes to build 
broad and dynamic mobilizations, involving a wide range of groups and 
respecting their diversity of strategies and practices in actions and 
mobilizations.
The Deauville and Cannes mobilizations offer us an unique chance to 
raise the people's voice face to the crisis and the world leaders' false 
solutions. These mobilizations are yours.
Therefore the french coalition G8G20 2011 strongly invites you to take 
part in the

      *G8-G20 International preparatory meeting *

      the 26th and 27th of March 2011, in Paris.

This meeting aims at
- sharing information on the french official agenda and key moments for 
joint initiatives and mobilizations,
- defining the key actions and spaces we want on the ground
- building the working methodology to broaden and root the mobilization 
dynamic in Europe and worldwide.

/Working languages : English and French
We'll provide a list of hotels and cheap accomodations on the website.
We can also arrange a few solidarity accomodation. But there's no 
funding available to pay flights and hotels for participants. /
