Organization participated fully in all the activities and are still proud of these wonderfull activities of CJA pre, during COP17 and the courage and resilience of our comrades thereafter in the face of persecution and scapegoat-ism!

In solidarity

Dear all,

As many of you probably know, Tannie and Stine received the final verdict in June this year, in the aftermath of the December 16, 2009 CJA/CJN! protest. Even though the protest was a collective act, they have to pay the price, literally: They were sentenced to 2 months in prison and have to pay the trial costs.

The court just sent the “bill” and they have to pay in total 187.000 DKK, which is about 25.100 EUROS.

CJA currently has about 2.000 Euros on the Danish bank account still remaining from COP15 in Copenhagen. As CJA is not doing any big activity at the moment and is not a very cohesive network anymore, as we don’t have knowledge of other persons being convicted on a general level and in this scale and that this money was fundraised in relation to COP15 activities, the former CJA finance group members have in consensus come to a decision:

That the remaining CJA funds will be donated to Stine and Tannie to cover part of their costs.

We hope you agree with us that we as finance group have some legitimacy to make such a decision, and that in the light of the current loose structure of the CJA network this is the best way to handle the issue. Of course we also hope that you all fully support Stine and Tannie. If you can do some fundraising to help them please do so! For instance, organize a support concert, pass around a collection box when having climate justice events, etc.

Greetings from
Juergen, Shannon, Bert, Ellie, Chris, Mooness, Peter, Martin, Anna and Nicola
