Hi Gary!

Here’s the text for the front page of dissent.org.uk

I don't know how easy it is, tech-wise, but m idea for it is that the bits in bold should be hyperlinks to other pages:

People’s Global Action hallmarks should link to www.agp.org (or perhaps to the page on that site that actually has the hallmarks on it?)

Info points should link to the contacts list (working groups and local groups). I think the contacts list is currently only available in the newsletter .pdf. It’d be good to make it a page of the website too.

Next meeting should link to information about the next meeting. All I know so far is that it is set for the 3rd and 4th July, probably in Bradford. Maybe just put the dates until the rest is confirmed and "to be announced"

The "next meeting" page should also have hyperlinks to the minutes of past meetings and the agenda of the next one when there is one.

Also very important right now is that the callout for june 2004 should be very prominent - maybe a flashing link on the frontpage.(is that possible?)

I like your idea of having a side bar menu (on the left?) with links to key parts of the site. I guess it could include meetings, contacts, international networking (i will send the international call in another mail), up-coming events, news, resources, links page blah blah blah. we can work on making all of these pages later. and also making it easy for groups to add information to them.

Jonathan from UHC collective was working on a logo and artwork. do you have a contact for him? i don't seem to but i'm sure i can find one.

I have loads of fairly basic ideas about layout (not artistic stuff about design, but more site mapping, to make information easy to find) and i’m quite excited about woeking on it with you. I’ve never really done web stuff before: too techie! So i’m looking forward to finding out more....

I’ll get in touch when i get back from ireland and we can organise a website group meeting in notts.

Lovelovelove, kx

******************** TEXT: **************************

The Dissent! network is made up of groups and individuals planning actions against the 2005 G8 summit. Dissent! is committed to taking direct action against the G8 and what it represents. Nobody owns the network and it has no leaders. Anyone who claims to speak on behalf of the network is lying.

We aim to disrupt the G8 and prevent their summit circus from taking place as planned. We still have a lot of time before June 2005: time to reflect on our struggles, to dream, and to create new ideas. This is a call to participate, to use our networks and our experiences and our strength to build for summer 2005

All the groups working within the network agree to the People’s Global Action hallmarks as a guideline for working together.

Get involved by either contacting one of info points below or come to the next meeting.
