yes, it is horrible.

I could not see any feature about the Free The World EP in pending
submissions for the site. Could you if you have not already done so
register with the site:

http://www.dissent.org.uk/index.php?option=com_registration&task=register

then you should receive a password be email to login, and submit your
text for a feature.

http://www.dissent.org.uk/index.php?option=content&task=new&sectionid=1&Itemid=22

If you don't receive a password by email let us know the username you
signed up with, and we can reset and send you a password.
But do bear with us as time limited.

Could you also provide versions in Ogg Vorbis format as well as MP3s on
the website.

http://www.vorbis.org

I could transcode the mp3s but then would not take advantage of better
quality for a given file size ogg has over mp3. If you need help with
this just ask. If the application that has raw uncompressed version of
track on does not support Ogg Vorbis export, then you could via raw
uncompressed files (wav) use Audacity to encode as Ogg Vorbis

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

But there are several other tools that can create Ogg Vorbis files from
raw audio files such as wavs.

By using mp3 alone you help further the interests of the multinational
corporation which owns patent that covers mp3. Now I do realise that our
revolution will sweep away property in all it forms, and we will
probably never see the WTO apply the pressure it has promised to
increase enforcement of patents as a proxy for corporate interests. But
part of our struggle to create revolution is to show solidarity in here
and now, with those that attempt to break free from corporate domination.

Most people do have applications that can play ogg vorbis files.

But if not they can download media players from:

http://foobar2000.org

vlc:

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

or helix player:

https://helixcommunity.org/

When the original request to host the site made to me I asked that this
be done, and while I understand the response that MP3s are more widely
supported, I feel that it should not be used by a movement that claims
it wishs to build a better world rather than re-enforce the status quo.

Also I did express my wishs for site to use standards compliant mark up.
Several of the pages as HTML exports from MS word, are full of
unnecessary mark up. I took liberty of removing author and company
fields, for privacy, just in case real. I believe Dreamweaver MX was
used to put site together it has an option to clean up markup created by
MS word. But I would myself would have copy and pasted text out of the
word processor into NVU ( http://www.nvu.com ), formatted and tweaked
in there to make web pages.

Another suggestion is you may want to make files available in Peer2Peer
networks ( http://j12.org/p2p/ ) but may wish change name (and tags) to
be picked up on searchs for original Band Aid.

cheers,
