Hope I've managed to attach this. Spoke to a couple of homecarers today    I
can't print their comments You can imagine!
Panorama programme on Mon. was very good. I noted the same rubbish being
spouted from Councils i.e they want to encourage independence; don't want to
force contact on people etc.

Meanwhile as the son of an elderly woman who was found dead in her home,
having lain dead for 2 days said, this would not have happened if the warden
had been kept because he made sure he saw the tenants every day. Her life
may not have been saved  - we'll never know  - but she wouldn't have lain
there.

In another case, 3 sisters who lived in a sheltered housing complex and met
up daily when they lost the warden 1 of them had to go into residential
care. Her daughter didn't feel she was safe enough since the warden had been
taken away.

The result  - amongst other things - was that the sisters hadn't met up  and
their regular contact and companionship had stopped.  Shameful
