This Thurs. there are a no. of deputations to the Council; on school
closures; on the Homecare modernisation programme; on "alternative business
models" i.e. more privatisation.
Last week the Eve. News had an article re. possible outsourcing of street
cleaning; school meals; revenues and benefits.

The situation is serious - we need to demonstrate that this is not what the
people of Edinburgh want from their Council

The brilliant response that was made to the intended tendering of care and
support services shows what's possible.

At the moment the Council are reviewing these tenders; the legality etc.
They may well come back in Jan '10 and try to push it through.

Only the staff; service-users; their relatives; the Trade Unions;
campaigning groups etc. can bring a halt to this disgrace.

We need to build on the anger and spirit of the campaign against the recent
tendering attempt .

Please come along this Thurs. from 9am to the City Chambers to show
Councillors that you do not want them to close schools; or privatise our
services.

You can further support by listening to the deputations/debate if you have
time.

Our vulnerable people are not for sale!

Get the market out of our Public Services!
