Next campaign meeting is this Wed.   - 30th Sept. '09  Council Chambers
6pm - 7pm   All Welcome

I've been trying to forward/ attach some items of interest  but no luck  so
I'll write them and hope you can access them.

1)  An article in the Independent   - Sat. 19th Sept.  about a lawyer who
was prosecuted for "professional misconduct" for challenging Councils
closing care homes.
In court she won and will now continue. So far she's saved 80 care homes for
the elderly from closure. For this, she's been witchhunted by Council
leaders in Northhamptonshire, Hull and Staffordshire.
Her name is Yvonne Hossack and the article title is Cleared: The Good
Lawyer.

Nearer home,  Evening news - Wed. Sept 23rd had an article "Veteran unable
to bathe after two month home help delay"  about an 86 year old man who had
had to wait for an assessment for help in bathing. He's a war veteran; has
an artificial hip and knees and other health problems.

Also Community Learning - Edinburgh has an e-petition and an e-mail re. the
savage cuts their service is facing.
