Hi I've forwarded the e-mail re. Swan success.

It's a great result!  Thanks to tireless campaigners and many service-users;
their relatives and support staff, the Council were forced to scrap the
tendering process for this group of people,
I'd forwarded earlier the Eve. news article which outlined the faults that
the Deloitte report uncovered .

I'll forward it again.
In this case the campaign forced scrutiny of the tender process and prove
that it was not a "fair" process which judged quality as well as cost.

Perhaps the Homecare campaign can benefit from this exposure. We know that
the tenders that are used in Homecare will be just as flawed as those they
tried to use but were stopped by the SWAN campaign.

Our congratulations to SWAN.

Tonight's Evening News carries an article about the disgrace of Homecarers
not having time to cook hot food for the service-users,

The article is titled "Cheesed Off" on the front page - can anyone send
the link to the campaign? Thanks

Our next meeting is Wed. 24th Feb '10 at 6pm at Council Chambers.

Keep e-mailing with info.

Also I'm going to forward info re. an important event this Sat 20th Feb
'10 Please try and join the demo against the Scottish Defence League
