[Educationforall] SDSU Organization Calling for Campus Wide WALKOUT on March 4th

        Greetings All,

SDSU student group Revolution 102 has called for a campus wide walkout on March 4th.  They are requesting the support of the faculty.  If any faculty from San Diego City College has contacts with SDSU faculty then perhaps some words of support from our side may help.

        Helloooo Everybody! 

Here's what happened at our meeting today: 

we set our demands of what we're going to be asking administration, and they are: 
1. immediately reinstate the local admission policy
2. no new fee increases
3. no more furloughs
4. stop firing faculty
5. reinstate professors & lecturers 
6. Shared governance 

I
will be speaking to Dr. Charles Toombs tomorrow (hopefully) and I'll be
asking him to spread the news to faculty about our March 4th movement
and ask him about the faculties support on students walking out of
classes. 

There will be a teach-in on the morning of March 4th,
at 10AM until about 11:40. There will be a professor from the Poli Sci
department and I emailed Professor Choi from the sociology department
to be a speaker for the teach-in as well. So hopefully he's able to do
so. 

March 4th, we will be walking out of class at 11:40 and
meeting in front of Arts & Letters. We need "runners" that will go
to classrooms right before the walk out and basically call on students
and faculty to come join us...if you feel like you could be one of
those people, please let me know ASAP! 

We're planning on going
around to classes next week to start announcing the march 4th movement.
I will be making a flyer to pass around to faculty to ask that they
don't penalize students who do decide to walk out of their classrooms.
If you have access to a certain department, please let me know so you
can pass those flyers out to professors. 

As mentioned, we're
gonna start going around to classes next week. And if you're going to
be one of those people please make sure you come to the meeting next
week. And have a copy of your speech prepared so we can all hear what
you're going to be saying. 

Also, I still need people to bring in art supplies...it's SUPER important that we have as many supplies as possible.  

Hopefully I've covered everything!! It's really important that you all make it to the meetings.

4th committee meetings are on wednesdays at 1 and Revolution 102
meetings are at 2...both at the same spot...in front of scripps ranch.
