[Educationforall] proposed agenda for 12/18 EFA meeting

Hi All,
While I cannot attend this meeting, I can let you know that with regard to
point #4 AFT Local 1931 is aware of the event and supportive as I mentioned
at the meeting I attended before Thanksgiving.  I have recently spoken to
SDEA president Camille Zombro (represents all K-12 teachers in San DIego) and
SD/Imperial Valley Labor Council Secretary General Lorena Gonzales about
additional events that CFT (that's our statewide organization) is planning
for late March and early April.  I also mentioned the March 4th events and
neither of them had heard any word of it, although I think they would be
supportive.  I would be happy to help with letting them know more about what
you are doing as I have frequent contact with them and sit in on the E Board
of the Labor Council and serve as a delegate to the Labor Council. I also
work with other public sector union folks and community activists across the
city on a regular basis.   Just let me know when you have your local agenda
down and what you'd like me to do, if anything.  Happy holidays.

Here is the proposed agenda for EFA 12/18 meeting:
 
1. Introductions- 5min
 
2. Report backs- Dec 5th SoCal regional meeting/ UCSD faculty coalition
meeting- 20min
 
3. January 4th- Updates. How can EFA contribute besides attending event?

4. Continue organizing for Jan 23 Summit with Joint Forces- flyer/e-mail
blast, making K-12 connections, getting unions on board, location (SDSU?),
ect... 20 min
 
5. Proposal from Marcos- creating student leadership, democratically electing
a Coordinating Committee- 1) composed of 3 students  2)solicit agenda
items/set agenda 3) Maintain club status and attend mandatory campus meetings
4) Follow up with action items 20 min
 
6. Continued discussion of purpose of EFA, goals, and direction. 15 min
