Join us Thursday, March 11th from 11:30-1:30 in Room D121A/B for a

Dialogue on Race and Racism in Higher Education

What: The recent incidents of racism at UCSD (and other forms of discrimination at UC and CSU schools) have called attention to the continued under-representation of students and faculty of color in the UC system and throughout higher education as a whole. This is a forum designed to address these issues and open up a safe place for dialogue with City College students and faculty on these issues. As City College students seek to transfer to institutions of higher learning such as UCSD and SDSU, this forum is also designed to show support for our students in their efforts to overcome institutional and social barriers to their academic success. There will be a panel of speakers including students, faculty, and administrators addressing different aspects of the issues. Students and faculty will also be invited to participate in an open discussion and dialogue that will follow presentations.

Where: San Diego City College Room D121A/B (Just north of the cafeteria in the D building, also known as the faculty lounge)

When: Thursday, 11:30-1:30

Who: This is an open forum for all who want to participate. Instructors are encouraged to bring and/or invite their students.
