Nativo was arrested today 
at his Mental Competency Hearing, 
Next Court Date

Los Angeles, CA An Open Letter WE NEED YOUR HELP! 
This morning Nativo Lopez, was arrested during his mental competency hearing and held under Contempt of Court, he will have another hearing tomorrow morning at the same location mentioned below, (1150 N. San Fernando Rd. Los Angeles, Ca Dept 95.) 

He is being held with the most dangerous prisoners and was forced to get naked and watched and video taped by three female guards. He has decided to begin a hunger strike. We need your help and support during this moment and need help spreading the word. Please notify any media and come out and show your support. This is extremely unjust and we must get him out of prison and make everyone aware of what is going on.

What: Mental Competency Hearing before a judge, as referred by the Commissioner Kristi Lousteau from the last court date in Los Angeles Superior Court
Where: Mental Health Department - 1150 N. San Fernando Road, Los Angeles, Dept. 95
When: Wednesday, February 17, 2010
Time: 8:30 a.m.
At the last court appearance the Commissioner Kristi Lousteau ordered a mental competency hearing for Nativo Lopez to determine if he is competent to understand the nature of the legal proceedings against him. This occurred after Nativo refused to declare to the court his desire to represent himself or to be represented by private legal counsel, and continued to demand that the court submit to him the original charging instrument (accusatory document from the District Attorney's Office) for his inspection (which is his right). This is the first of many test by the court to determine if Nativo is capable of sustaining his presentation and rights before the court and provide a remedy to settle and close the matter without the need of exhausting public resources for a trial.
