Greetings Everyone,

Tomorrow the PUSJ will host a planning meeting for the May 26th Action we are organizing in downtown. If you are available to participate please review the information below and I'll see you there!

-In Solidarity,

Wayne S.

Please come to our special People United for Social Justice planning meeting this Thursday, May 6th at noon at the Wellness Center, 4440 Wightman St., San Diego. Lunch will be provided.

Please note that the meeting is Thursday, not Friday, our usual meeting day, in order to accommodate students from Education for All who wish to attend our meeting and work with us in planning the May 26th protest.

We have a two point agenda for the meeting:

(1) assessment of the 5/24 Town Hall meeting with Ducheny- what worked, what didn't;

(2) planning for the March for California's People on May 26th, co-sponsored with Education for All.

Please see attached flyer. There are a couple of minor changes that need to be made on the flyer, but wanted to get it out now. Feel free to use this until I forward a new one. We will also be providing a Spanish language version shortly.

Below is the list of tasks needed to make this event a success. Please consider which task(s) you are able to take on.

(1) Outreach - (a) other social justice organizations, listserves and websites; (b) senior organizations (c) student groups (d) labor groups/members (e) immigrant rights groups (6)anti-poverty/welfare rights groups (f) disability groups (g) events to attend for hand distribution of flyers

(2) Program - once we decide on length of program, number of speakers we need, and who we wish to be represented on the podium, people willing to make the calls to potential speakers and coordinate the program

(3) Logistics - (1) determine route (2) sound system (3) sign interpretation (4) Spanish interpretation (5) peace monitors (6) police liaison

(4) Media - (1) press release (2) press calls (3) press packets

(5) Sign and banner making

(6) Chant sheets

See you Thursday!

In solidarity,

ANN
