Inaugurado el curso Político-Sindical convocado por el ESNA (Encuentro Sindical Nuestra América)
 
 
30 de noviembre, Tijuana, México- Con la participación de sindicalistas de los Estados Unidos y México , fue inaugurado el curso Político-Sindical, que dando respuesta a los acuerdos emanados del Encuentro Sindical Nuestra América, se desarrolla en Tijuana, México.
 
En la inauguración del curso usaron de la palabra, AnibalMelo Infante, funcionario de la Central de Trabajadores de Cuba, organización que por mandato de ESNA, organiza la capacitación de dirigentes sindicales en el continente y Joao Batista Lemus, integrante del grupo coordinador del ESNA.


 


Una vez realizada la presentación de los participantes, el compañero Heriberto González, profesor de la escuela Nacional de Cuadros Sindicales  “Lázaro Pena” de Cuba, abordó el tema:  “Principales impactos de la crisis mundial en América Latina y el Caribe”.
 
En la discusión del tema presentado,  se hizo incapié en la coyuntura por la que  atraviesa América Latina y el Caribe en su economía a partir de los efectos de la crisis mundial en la región y la imposibilidad de lograr crecimientos sostenidos del producto interno bruto (PIB), incrementándose los índices de pobreza en varios países de la región, donde paradójicamente en países con gobiernos progresistas se eleva el nivel de solución de los problemas que hoy se aquejan.

Labor Seminar, convened by the Trade Union Meeting of Our America, initiates in Tijuana Mexico
 
November 30, 2011 Tijuana, México- With the participation from labor unions from the United States and Mexico, the Labor seminar began in Tijuana Mexico, responding to proposals that came from theTrade Union Meeting of Our America (ESNA).
 
At the inauguration of the seminar, Anibal Melo Infante, representative of the Central Labor Council of Cuba (CTC), organization with by mandate of the ESNA organizes the seminar for Labor/Union leaders throughout the continent with the collaboration of Joao Batista Lemus, of the Central Worker’s Council of Brasil.


 


Once the participants introduced themselves, Heriberto Gonzalez, professor of the Lazaro Peña Cadre School in Cuba provided an overview on the “Essential Impacts of the World Economic Crisis on Latin-America and the Caribbean”.  
 
During the discussion on this theme, it was emphasized that Latin-American and Caribbean economies find themselves at a juncture where their economies, as a result of the impact of the world economic crisis, have been unable to maintain sustained growth of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP), a contributing factor to the poverty indices’ in several countries, despite being a region with huge amounts of natural resources. However it was noted that regionally there are countrieswith progressive governments in power that have been able to provide solutions to pressing social issues despite this lack of growth, notably those that are member nations of the Bolivarian Alliance of the People’s of Nuestra America (ALBA).
