Subject: Milestone for World's Domestic Workers
June 16, 2011
More than 20,000 people joined the New York City March for the Middle Class across the Brooklyn Bridge to spotlight the continuing assault on working families’ jobs and values.
In a milestone move for nannies, caregivers and other domestic workers, today the UN’s International Labor Organization adopted the first international “convention” on Decent Work for Domestic Workers, says AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler.
