A financial speculation tax would ensure that Wall Street pays its fair share to fix the economy it broke, said thousands of National Nurses United members at a Wall Street rally yesterday.
After a decade-long battle, transportation security officers working at airports around the nation finally have their union—AFGE. Election results were announced this morning for the 40,000 workers at the Transportation Security Administration. Says AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka, “Today’s victory affirms the deep-seated desire of working people across the country for a voice on the job and a seat at the table in solving workplace problems when given a free choice.”
