Students Occupy Los Angeles to Support Upcoming California State University Domingus Hills Strike - Saturday, Nov.12, 2011 -

Students Occupy Los Angeles (S.O.L.A.) is a group of students around the Los Angeles region that support the Occupy Movement and Occupy L.A.. The group seeks to address greed and corruption in society using methods that are non-violent and supported by our rights as US citizens, as guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. S.O.L.A. adheres to a policy of nonviolence in all it does.

In Southern California, the following schools have occupy interest/support groups, General Assemblies and/or occupations, and some degree of connection with Students Occupy Los Angeles (S.O.L.A.) at Occupy Los Angeles:

The Occupy movement drew thousands of California college students to protests earlier last week. 10 campuses or more were involved. Included were UCLA, UC Irvine, and UC Berkeley. At UC Berkeley, police used force to remove students participating in non-violent protest. 39 people were arrested.

Last Saturday, S.O.L.A. consensed to be a part of the up-coming state-wide and nation-wide occupy actions (Nov. 15th and 17th) in solidarity with UC Berkeley in light of the issues there earlier this week.

In support of UC Berkeley and the issues raised by its occupation attempt (ie the dismantling of public education, constant rise in student fees and debt, etc.) S.O.L.A. will be acting in support of the CFA Strike at CSU Domingus Hills on Nov. 17, ’11.
