<B>Bargaining Update</B><BR>
<BR>
On Thursday, Feb. 4 SDEA presented the SDUSD bargaining team with a <BR>
counter to the District’s unacceptable Jan. 19 proposal of an eight <BR>
percent pay cut. Our counter proposal represents the input gathered <BR>
from the SDEA members who participated the city-wide bargaining input <BR>
meetings over the past week. The SDEA proposal presented to the District <BR>
<SPAN style="COLOR: black">includes </SPAN>three student-contact furlough days, and is to be repaid through <BR>
strong contractual guarantees. This proposal is<SPAN style="COLOR: black"> fair and represents real </SPAN><BR>
<SPAN style="COLOR: black">sacrifice on the part of San Diego's educators.</SPAN><BR>
