> Date: Wed, 7 Apr 2010 13:19:53 -0700
>
> Hi everyone,
>
> Great meeting yesterday. Lots of new people & organizations came.
> Short summary:
>
> - After introductions and proposed agenda, we had a brief introductory
> discussion on May 1st and the connection of all different causes
> (immigration, education, homelessness etc) and our 4 demands
> (Legalization for all -- without conditions, Jobs and livable wages
> for all, Fund educations & social services -- not war, No human is
> illegal, no love is illegal);
>
- We watched a short YouTube video of the Immigration rally in
> Washington DC on March 21st 2010, which had about 200,000 people;
>
- Open discussion on various topics; what will be the shape of our May
> 1st? What are the route options for our march? How to organize
> security? (...)
>
- In the second half of the meeting, we split the group into 3
> committees: Logistics, Media, Outreach. Each committee went into a
> separate room for about 30 minutes to elaborate on the details of what
> needs to be done;

> - In the last 20 minutes of the meeting, all three committees
> reconvened in the room and reported back their proposals to the
> collective. Lots of good proposals and ideas, but we ran out of time
> to go through all of them adequately. In the next meeting we will take
> it from there;

> - A new flyer should come out later this week;

> - Meetings will happen every week from now until May 1st. So the next
> meetings are: April 13, 20 and 27 (Tuesdays), always 6-8pm @ City
> College, room B-104. As always, this is open to everyone, and if you
> can, bring new people / new groups to the Coalition.
>
> Everyone is invited to informally continue the discussion of the 3
> committees. The complete list of e-mail addresses is the one used to
> send this message (it includes everyone who came to any of the three
> May 1st Coalition meetings we've had so far).
