Hi Wayne, I just read your email and also got John Falchi's call. I cannot
come to the meeting at 11:00, but the San Diego Democratic Women's Club is fully
on board. We may have a representative there anyway if Mahalia and Carrie are
there. I can't speak for the Education Consortium, you will need to
contact Andrea Guerrero for that. d

I am personally onboard, but can't make a lot of meetings. Pat

everyone,

I hope everyone has been enjoying this summer. It seems
like there are social issues hitting us from all angles. We are
witnessing the attempt by government officials to rule like vigilantes,
completely blind to their corrupted consciousness, as in attack on
immigrants. The devastation of the recent oil catastrophe is so surreal
we are numb to its magnitude. The only thing more tragic is the protectionism
the government enacted for corporate welfare, rather than human and
environmental. Truly throughout the world we are presented with an
opportunity, perhaps one of the first times in many centuries, to change the
direction of what it means to be human.

The existing movements
overlap at the fundamental roots of their struggle. The student movement
is aligned with the environmental justice movement, with immigrants rights,
human rights, government accountability movement, peace movement, and so
on. The October 7th Call to Action has been released; it is a National
Call to Action. Tomorrow EFA is participating in a meeting to discuss
the planning efforts of the action and movement. Numerous organizations
were sent the following invitation or were contacted directly to
participate. If your organization was not contacted and you are
interested in participating please come to the next EFA meeting so we can get
it going!

In Solidarity,

-Wayne Scherer
Education for
