of the best-known student activists of the 1960s, a founding member of Students
for a Democratic Society (SDS), one of the Chicago 7, and both a CA state
assemblyman and a </span><span style="font-family:ArialMT;color:black;font-size:18pt">CA state senator
(1982-2000).<span> </span>He has taught courses
at Pitzer College and Occidental College.<span>
